Words by Katie Krongard
Often, when we throw an event, we are raving about the food, or talking about how happy we are that the design came across the way that we intended; we always love the company, but our ‘Day of the Dead’ party was MADE by the participation of our guests. Not a single person showed up out of costume, and it made the night absolutely A-mazing. Produced in collaboration with By Invitation Only, our Day of the Dead party was one of the best events we had all year.
A portion of the proceeds benefited the Park City Education Fund. We served up a gourmet meal for 129 people, followed by the arrival of 350 after-dinner party guests. We converted a bowling alley in Park City into our version of a nightclub. We built a dance floor over seven bowling lanes, and DJ Randolph kept the party going well into the next day. Our favorite design elements included the over 400 cathedral alter lights that illuminated the space, and our PUREfourhundred signature deer heads that were suspended over the dance floor. Ultimately, the draped canopy bed took the prize—constructed for the photo booth, and the prime gathering place for our guests to capture their Day of the Dead costume and makeup memories.
We haven’t told you the best part…
Day of the Dead is an annual event.
Mark your calendars for November 1st, Day of the Dead Generation 2.
We can’t wait.
