CHEF CARLOS GAYTAN

Chef Carlos Gaytan of the Michelin star awarded restaurant in Chicago, Mexique, is a wonderfully rare breed. A phenomenal chef, yes, but he is known not just for his food, though it is impeccable, but also his humility. After appearing on Bravo TV’s Top Chef he became even more recognizable, but it seems he still walks in his success rather gracefully.  He was highlighted in the Chicago Tribune in the Spring of last year for the success of Mexique, and he was so incredibly humble, calling the popularity of Mexique a “miracle.”

Maybe this is what makes him so magnetic, though, our taste buds really can’t get enough either. The good people over at Chasing ATLAS have teamed up with Chef Carlos to do a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. He will teach cooking classes, and share some of the unique culture of Oaxaca. He has decided to donate his profits from the trip to his church in Chicago, so this truly is about sharing his personal experience with the food and people of Oaxaca with others.

6 Days / 5 Nights. Premium Accommodations at Casa Oaxaca. Chasing Atlas has reserved the entire boutique hotel for this trip. You will have a behind-the-scenes look into the food and culture in Oaxaca. Chef Carlos Gaytan, tequila tastings, opportunities to see the sites, and time at the markets; this trip is going to be the ultimate experience for anyone who loves food.

Dates TBA. (End of February/Beginning of March)
