DENTAL SPA

Words by Katie Krongard

Sometimes, we get the opportunity to work with people who already have a brilliant visions—and in these opportunities we have the privilege of making these visions and dreams a reality. Here’s the truth of it: Dr. Kirkland Graham’s Dental Spa really makes you sit back and wonder why this isn’t happening everywhere. Your preconceived notion of what a dental office looks, feels, and smells like is not what you will experience at the Dental Spa. We transformed the traditional dental experience that is often dreaded to something entirely different. Go ahead and get your teeth cleaned, followed by a mani/pedi. How about a hand and arm massage? We’ll take one of each.

We chatted with Dr. Kirkland Graham about his career and thoughts about the new space. We’re certain you will want to adopt him as your new dentist too.

How long have you been a dentist and what do you enjoy most about the work that you do? I have been practicing for 13 years now.  I moved to SLC to open the dental spa, a concept I developed while I was in dental school in Kansas City.

Is there one particular highlight about your career that sticks out in your mind?   It is wonderful to be part of an experience that has changed dentistry for so many people.   Daily, people are posting reviews on Facebook about their visit to the Dental Spa.  I love to read the reviews with my staff.  It really validates that the hard work we provide is making people excited about their oral care.

What made you decide to create a Dental Spa?  I studied art and design for years.  Like many people, I dreaded the appearance, smells, and overall sterility of dental offices.  While in school I would spend much time designing what my ideal dental experience would be.

What do you love most about the space? The space has an amazing flow and has been designed in such a way that we can offer our patients the serenity and comforts they would expect in a resort.

How are your clients enjoying their ‘spa’ experience?   We are continually thrilled by the response that we get from our guests.  Kids are now asking their parents when they can go to the Kids Dental Spa.  That makes it rewarding to all of us.
