PUREfourhundred is bringing the glamour and fashion experience of Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs to Utah. Couture hats, high-style, race horses, delectable gastronomy, libations, and live coverage of the highly anticipated “Race for the Roses.” Utah Quarter Horse Racing Association and racehorse trainer Brad Bingham will have racehorses at the event for patrons to meet. Painter Lucia Heffernan, who’s work has been featured in conjunction with Kentucky Derby in Louisville will have numerous of her coveted paintings on display for art enthusiasts to enjoy. Twin sisters and winners of Season 7 Cupcake Wars, will also be creating fabulous ‘Cravings Alicia’s Cupcakes’ original cupcakes for guests. This will be an afternoon that brings together the best of Utah, while paying homage to the iconic Kentucky Derby horse race.
Partial proceeds from the event will benefit the National Ability Center Equestrian Program and People Water.
Utah, not generally well known for racehorses, is actually one of the top five states in the country for training quarter horses. “Utah doesn’t get a lot of credit for what they do. Utah is an interesting state because the cost to train horses is significantly lower than other states. Utah is a major player in the horse-training world. Horses start their racing careers here and as soon as the horse shows promise they are moved so that it can start making money on the race circuit,” notes Brad Bingham, Utah Quarter Horse Racing Association Board Member and Race Horse Trainer. “It is very exciting for us to participate in this event with PUREfourhundred and to showcase the beautiful race horses that train here in Utah.”
Additional sponsors of the event include Andy Shea of Stearns Lending, Maserati of Salt Lake City and Via Home.
