We often brag about the unsuspecting culture in Salt Lake City. It can sometimes take a lot of convincing before people really see the hidden gems within the streets of Downtown. Amazing bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants are buried in the city blocks and there is a certain kind of joy that comes from discovering a new beloved spot. Introducing Rye: from the owners of Urban Lounge, this little diner is a local gem. Modern and industrial décor (made complete with a gorgeous swallow mural on the back wall), with an emphasis on whiskey and waffles, they’ve made it a place that is easy to love. Serving brunch and dinner, and open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, Rye has given us plenty of excuses to visit. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll head in for brunch and order a soft scramble with a cup of locally roasted Charming Beard coffee. Your morning (and appetite) will surely thank you.
