YUKI YAMA SUSHI

Our designers Brett Bluth and Brooke Andrus, along with the fantastic Kristina Pluta recently completed the gorgeous remodel of the top floor at Park City’s Yuki Yama Sushi. Nestled in on Main Street, Yuki Yama Sushi is frequently visited, and boasts a menu that is mouth-watering, completely fresh, and incorporates both Korean and Japanese cuisine. Their top floor, pre-remodel, was a dark space that was not usable, and extremely tight. Yuki Yama owners wanted a space where guests could dine but also could be used for private events. An open-air concept was the starting place for this massive remodel while paying homage to the stone and steel elements already prominent in the existing space. The remodel and design was an incredible team effort and the end result is truly stunning. It achieves exactly what we wanted, and is a space that begs you to linger for a while longer. The space is warm and inviting with the most beautiful custom wood benches, traditional Japanese seating, and ambient lighting throughout.

A few design elements of note:

Designers Brett and Brooke wandered every stone yard in Salt Lake Valley looking for the perfect slab of stone for the giant family dining table. They found an incredible piece, but when they went back to purchase the slab, it had sold. They couldn’t let that design element go, so they searched the entire country to find another. That table was quite literally hand picked with extreme love and vision.

The twenty-foot painting that spans an entire wall had to be painted in house by artist Leila Lee. It was much too large to do outside of the space, and hanging it was not an easy task either. Our team worked with local welder Charlie Kimball who welded the floating steel frame onsite. Leila spent several nights painting this masterpiece in order to complete it on time.

Thank you Yuki Yama for including us on this incredible project.

Who’s hungry for Sushi?
