NATA GALLERY

Words by Katie Krongard

Chef Katie Weinner is the butter to our toast; except she’d probably infuse her butter with something fancy and serve it on string with a clothespin. We’d just sit back, mouths wide open, wishing we could bottle her creativity somehow and sell it to make millions. But in all honesty, her ability to blend delicious flavors, and create a modern art experience is completely mind-blowing. The PUREfourhundred team was lucky enough to sit at one of last few SLC Pop dinners at the Nata Gallery, and to say that the meal was extraordinary would be grossly understated. She captured our attention with the very first course, “a celebration to bacon,” and with every bite thereafter, our senses were transported to another place. Every course took an amount of participation that you would never find in a typical restaurant experience. It wasn’t just about what we tasted; it was visually stunning, and every dish required a sensual discovery experience that was truly unforgettable.

We’d be amiss if we didn’t mention the artwork that adorned the walls during our meal.  Artist Kevin Arthofer’s faux animal heads made of recycled materials set the stage. If you know PUREfourhundred, you know that we are obsessed with antlers, and to see them created out of recycled ski materials was absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to have him stop in and chat with us about his process, topping off our evening with some design inspiration to pair with our 2nd (or 3rd) glass of wine.

All of the glass clinks go to Nata Gallery. A truly memorable and fabulous evening with the PUREfourhundred team and friends.
